MEET JUDGE TERRY MASSEY

Striving to make a difference in the lives of others.

Judge Massey graduated right here from the University of Georgia and he's a proud Double dog.

In 1987, Judge Massey graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor's Degree of Business Administration.  In 1990, he graduated from the University of Georgia School of Law.  After graduation, he returned to his hometown Conyers, Georgia, where he started his private practice.  Five years later, he was appointed by the City Council of Conyers to serve as its part-time Municipal Court Judge, where he served for the next 23 years.

Judge Terry N. Massey strives to make a difference in the lives of others.

Judge Terry Massey serves as a Superior Court Judge for the Ocmulgee Judicial Circuit, which includes Baldwin, Greene, Hancock, Jasper, Jones, Morgan, Putnam, and Wilkinson Counties.  On August 8, 2018, Governor Nathan Deal swore in Judge Massey to fill the vacancy created when the Honorable E. Trenton Brown, III was appointed to the Court of Appeals on May 26, 2018.

Judge Massey previously served as a Municipal Court Judge for 23 years, which gives him extensive judicial experience.  Prior to becoming Superior Court Judge, he represented clients throughout the state of Georgia in both state and federal courts.  His litigation practice consisted of criminal, domestic, civil litigation, and corporate litigation, as well as numerous unique cases along the way.

The decisions made on the bench have a great impact on, not only the lives of the people in the court room, but for all the families of our community.  Judge Massey treats all of those who appear before him with respect, dignity, and fairness.  He believes in second chances for those non-violent offenders, who are deserving of that chance.  However, he is not afraid to make the tough decisions, and to apply the full weight of the law to those violent offenders in order to keep our families safe.

Short letter from Judge Massey...

Throughout my life, whether it involved representing clients or volunteering for my church and civic organizations, my number one goal was to make a difference in the lives of others. You have my word that I will continue working hard, applying the law firmly and fairly, and serving with integrity.  More importantly, I will be a judge that strives to make a difference one case at a time.

I humbly ask for your vote on May 19, 2020 or in the early voting period which starts on April 27, 2020.
