Superior Court has exclusive jurisdiction over all cases of divorce, equity, title to land, and felonies involving jury trials, including death penalty cases.

If you were appointed in August of 2018, why are you having to be elected?  In Georgia, the Governor appoints replacements to Superior Court positions when they become vacant. The appointee is required to run in the next Primary Election that is more than six months from the date the judge is sworn in. 

 

When does voting begin?  The election day will be May 19, 2020 with early voting beginning on April 27, 2020. 

What counties are in the Ocmulgee Circuit? Anyone who lives in one of the following counties that is registered to vote can help elect Judge Massey:  Baldwin, Greene, Hancock, Jasper, Jones, Morgan, Putnam, and Wilkinson

Is there a deadline to register to vote in the May 19, 2020 primary? Yes, the deadline is April 20, 2020.

What form of ID is acceptable to show when voting?

  • Any valid state or federal government issued photo ID, including a free ID Card issued by your county registrar's office or the Georgia Department of Driver Services (DDS)

  • A Georgia Driver's License, even if expired

  • Valid employee photo ID from any branch, department, agency, or entity of the U.S. Government, Georgia, or any county, municipality, board, authority or other entity of this state

  • Valid U.S. passport ID

  • Valid U.S. military photo ID

  • Valid tribal photo ID
